Overview

Nestled deep within the heart of Madhya Pradesh lies the breathtaking expanse of Panna Tiger Reserve, a sanctuary offering a captivating retreat into the wilderness. Cradled by the Vindhya hills, this terrain captivates with its cascading waterfalls, sprawling plateaus, and rugged gorges. Within its embrace roam the regal Bengal tigers, elusive leopards, and graceful deer, promising an unforgettable safari adventure.

Designated a Tiger Reserve in 1994, Panna flourished as a haven for wildlife, earning accolades for its excellence in 2007. Yet, by 2009, the tragic scourge of poaching had robbed Panna of its tiger population entirely. It was a loss keenly felt, echoing the plight of many of India's natural treasures to the grips of greed and exploitation.

In a concerted effort to revive this sanctuary, other Tiger Reserves in Madhya Pradesh rallied to Panna's aid, translocating tigers in a bid to replenish its population. Through unwavering dedication and perseverance, the tide turned. Today, Panna Tiger Reserve stands anew, boasting a thriving population of around 60 tigers, a testament to nature's resilience and mankind's commitment to conservation.

Embark on an enchanting odyssey through lush forests and expansive grasslands, where each twist and turn reveals nature's boundless wonders. Panna's landscape is a tapestry of Teakwood and Catechu trees, crisscrossed by the meandering Ken River and adorned with ancient rock paintings. With binoculars at the ready, marvel at a vibrant avian population, from the vivid hues of kingfishers to the majestic flight of the critically endangered Red-headed Vulture and Indian Vulture.

Experience the thrill of spotting rare and endangered species, from the mighty sloth bear to the elusive Indian wolf, from the caracal to the jungle cat. As dusk descends, immerse yourself in the symphony of the jungle, alive with the calls of nocturnal creatures, lending an air of mystique to your adventure. Whether you're a seasoned wildlife enthusiast or a novice nature lover, Panna Tiger Reserve beckons, offering an unparalleled opportunity to connect with the untamed beauty of the natural world. Join us on an expedition into the heart of the wild, where memories are etched in the tapestry of time.
